HSE Quidditch Tournament

On Sat. Nov. 12, HSE’s Harry Potter Club will be hosting it’s first school-wide Quidditch Tournament. It will run from 10 am to around 3 am. Even if you are not playing in it, it can still be an exciting, unique experience to watch.

Even if you have never seen Harry Potter, it is a sport that anyone can try. “I love quidditch, and I know that a lot of others do too,” junior Dalton Stanley said. “I think most people will have fun trying it out because it’s very different from what people usually do in sports.”

Quidditch is played with 6 players on the field for each team at a time. Three “chasers” attempt to get the “quaffle” into one of the three hoops. They can be stopped by the “keeper,” or one of the two “beaters” who throw “bludgers” at them. The game ends once each team releases their 7th player, the “seeker,” and they race to see who can catch the “snitch” first.

Come out to the Quidditch pitch (behind the tennis courts) on the 12th to experience one of the newest, fastest-growing sports. “Quidditch is an exciting sport that everyone can play,” junior Maura Dankoski said. “There’s a place for everyone on the Quidditch pitch, and everyone should come out and try it!”
