Blue Crew Uses Social Media To Inform Students Of Athletic Events

Although Covid-19 has put off numerous school traditions this fall, there is one thing that cannot be changed, school spirit. The HSE Blue Crew has been hard at work to keep fellow royals informed about school happenings through the use of social media. Their Instagram page, @hsebluecrew2021, provides students with updates about upcoming sporting events, so even from home students can stay up to date on royal athletics.

“We are continuing to post on Instagram and Twitter about upcoming sporting events in an attempt to show our support for the royals,” Blue Crew member Ella Wolf said. “So far, I believe it is going really well as it is informing students when and where games are.”

The Instagram not only shares the times and locations of the events, but also informs students about attendance guidelines. In numerous posts, Blue Crew leaders share whether or not they will be in attendance at an event. The page even signs off posts with #maskup to show students what is expected.

“Everything is done at your own risk and we are not requiring attendance from anyone,” Wolf said. “We as a group are trying our best to show out for sports in a socially distanced way with masks.”

Blue Crew will continue to use their social media platform to empower students to show their school spirit even during this difficult time.
