It’s been about a year since the day we were all told we were going to be out of school for two weeks because of the Covid-19 outbreak in our country. Most students were excited because it sounded like a little break from the chaos. Little did we all know we all would be suffering the consequences for over a year. On the bright side, more and more people are getting vaccinated every single day.

Vaccines are used to help fight infections and produce immunity. As of March 31st, Indiana residents older than 16 will be able to schedule their vaccine appointment if they wish! The age requirement has gone down at a pretty fast pace. According to the CDC on March 25th, there have been 169,223,125 vaccines delivered in the United States. Now, there isn’t just one you can get. Different vaccines have been authorized and recommended by the CDC and those include the Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and the Johnson 7 Johnson / Janssen.

Some people may be hesitant, and others may be eager. The side effects may include pain, redness, or swelling in the arm where you got the shot. Some more common side effects throughout the rest of your body can include tiredness, headache, muscle pain, chills, fever, or nausea according to the CDC website. The CDC says that side effects can be felt within a day or two of getting the vaccine.

If you are interested in getting vaccinated there are many places that you can get it done. There are state vaccinating clinics, local health departments, pharmacies, and more.
