Boys Soccer Season Review

HSE’s Boys Soccer team has had a great season so far according to the statistics. Now it’s time for an inside look at how the team feels now, and how they want to feel and do moving forward.

According to Charlie Woodring, one of the captains, “We’ve shown a lot of potential on the field, and when we play to it, it kind of strengthens the team more and more. That growth is going to do us really well when going into sectionals as well as homecoming weekend.”

And potential they’ve shown. According to MaxPreps, their record is 9-3-1. Members of the team then went on to say thinking as a unit will be beneficial as the season progresses. The forming unit is doing well with an accumulative 107 shots on goal so far. Also, they are ranked number 60 nationally and number 7 in the state. The captains hope to move up farther in the ladder come sectionals this year.

“Look, this is a group of really great guys this year. On and off the field. We have a shot to be top 5 at least in the state if we keep progressing at this rate.”

Through talking to the majority of the team and attending their games, the remainder of this season is going to be a good one. The compilation of strong players with great stats is great. With key players like the captains, Charlie Woodring, Oscar Tittle, Evan Dawdy, and the net hitters, Leeper, Dawdy, and Braden, the team is almost solid. For now, the goal is working as a unit and finishing out the season like Royals.
