On Friday night, the Hamilton Southeastern Royals hosted the Noblesville Millers and came out with a 38-8 victory. This was the 6th win this season for the Royals and saw them rise to the number 6 team in the state according to MaxPreps. For the Millers this game continued their losing streak and saw them fall to 2-5 on the season.

The game started off with a disastrous first quarter for the Millers. With about 9:45 left to go in the first quarter the Royals opened their scoring tab. It happened when Noblesville long-snapper Gage Wrin snapped the ball over the head of the punter and through the back of the endzone for a safety. Just under a minute later at 8:23 running back Blaine Wertz Broke free for a 33 yard touchdown run. After that the royals elected to go for a two point conversion and scored on a shovel pass from Sam Jacobs to put the royals up 10-0.

In the second quarter the royals defense dominated containing Noblesville’s 1000 yard rusher Logan Shoffner holding him to no run longer than 10 yards. The Royals offense also went to work driving down to the Miller’s 2 yard line and with 8:44 left in the half Senior running back Blaine Wertz scored his second touchdown of the night. The royals ended up scoring again with under a minute to go in the first half when Sam Jacobs threw a touchdown pass to Will Gerig to put the royals up to a strong 24-0 lead.

The Royals came out of halftime and immediately marched straight down the field to the 11 yard line. And on a busted 3rd down play Sam Jacobs ended up scrambling for his 2nd touchdown of the night to give the royals the monstrous lead of 31-0. With 7:19 left in the 3rd Louden Sundling forced a fumble to crush the millers best drive of the night. The royals ended up taking advantage of the field position and punched in the ball from the 3 yard line thanks to running back Owen Jones.

The fourth quarter was fairly uneventful as HSE and Noblesville traded drives on and off. But around 2:38 the Millers drove down and pushed running back Alaric Rodgers-Walton into the endzone for their first points of the night. The millers also elected to go for 2 and running back Logan Shoffner powered his way into the endzone for the two point conversion and to cap off all the scoring for the night.

The final score was 38-8 in favor of the Royals, who will host Franklin Central next week. For Noblesville they look to turn their season around as they play Brownsburg at home next week.
