SSN Athlete Spotlight: Emily Weber

Delaney Crace

Senior volleyball player, Emily Weber, committed to Wright State University in Ohio earlier this year to continue her athletic and academic career. She will be studying Kinesiology and playing Division I volleyball for the school. According to the Wright State University athletics website, for 2021, their team went 23-8 for the season record.

When asked about her feelings on committing Weber says, “Once I committed, it felt like a weight was lifted off my back. That I could go play without worrying about someone critiquing each set”. Weber says she had a couple other offers from mid-major schools, and that “each one had their own perks of attending”, but Wright State ended up being the right choice for her, because of the coaching staff, the team, and the program for her major.

Overall Weber says, “narrowing down my options was more stressful than the beginning of recruiting. The less schools you have the pickier you have to be”. We wish her the best of luck at WSU and hope that she will continue to represent the Hamilton Southeastern Athletics program in the way she has in her 263 sets here at HSE.
