February 24, around 5:00 a.m. local Ukrainian time, Russia launched its invasion in Ukraine which has been building up for weeks now. The attack started with missiles hitting specific targets in Ukraine after Russia said it was launching a special military operation. Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed the special military operation was to protect the people of the city Donbas. Putin has claimed that they are subjects of genocide and lashing out at how NATO supports Ukrainian neo-Nazis and how Russia’s actions are just self-defense. Around 40 Ukrainians have died from the missile strikes and dozens more are wounded. It is estimated that around 50,000 Ukrainian civilians will die by the end of the week according to CNN. But there have been a few heroes with Ukraine in their fight for survival like the ace pilot “The Ghost of Kyiv” and the ground soldier “Ukraine Reaper”.   The Ghost of Kyiv who has not been named yet has a jaw-dropping 6 kills in 30 hours following the start of the invasion taking down Two Su-35, two Su-35 Flankers, One Su-27 Flanker, and one MiG-29 Fulcrum according to Marca. But on the ground, it’s a different story with the Ukraine reaper with 20 confirmed Russian kills on his own according to, Marca.
