The HSE Royals Boys Varsity volleyball team is coming off 2020/2021 season with a 25-15 record (6-1 conference).   Last season the Royals started with a 10-2 record in the first 12 games of the season.  The Royals then had a 4-game losing streak, but then rattled off a 3-game win streak bringing them to a 17- 6 just past the midway point in the season.   The latter part of the season consisted of a teeter totter between wins and losses with the longest win streak of 3 matches. Overall, the boys Varsity volleyball team had a excellent 2020/2021 season.

Last year Royals Boys Varsity team consisted of two Seniors; Spencer Dowd and Ethan Hedrick; 5 Juniors Jack Sexauer, Ethan Carmona, Drew Berry, Riley Leppert and Noa Haneline; 2 Sophomores Caden Marchione and Ben Harris.  All 5 Juniors are returning to the team as Seniors for the 2021/2022 season.  Ben Harris and Caden Marchione are returning as Juniors with the addition of 3 new Junior players, Zach Miller, Aiden LeCuyer and Carter Gutt. The Royals have also added 2 Sophomores, Jackson Campbell, and Gage Haase. With all the new seniors and juniors, the volleyball team is looking promising.

This upcoming volleyball season is full of great hopes. Hopefully we will see the new seniors take a lead role for the team. In a scrimmage Hamilton Southeastern against cathedral, we won four of the five sets played. The first game for the boys’ volleyball team will be played Tuesday March 15th against Brownsburg. The first home game will be played on Thursday March 17th against Carmel. The Royals have so much experienced talent returning to the team as well as some great incoming new additions to the team.  We can all hope for an exciting season for the Boys Varsity Volleyball team.
