Boys Tennis Recap

Brandon Douglas

Boys Tennis had a hard-fought year this past season. The team with a record of 14-4 through matches fully supports each other and work for what they want to achieve, making it all the way to the semifinals. I stopped to talk with Paul Schneider about his own, and his team’s season this past fall. Paul himself had a great career through HSE and he has great potential at the next level. He has been playing tennis since he was in his younger years and has a true drive to win and bring success. He went all state 3 years in a row while being a 4-year varsity starter. Paul is ready for the next level, but he reflects on his cherished time with the HSE Tennis program. “This season was something very special to me because not only was it my last high school season but it was my season with everyone on the team.” Is how Paul opened the conversation and it really showed his pure love for the sport and the team around him. The team fell short in regionals after a hard-fought season that was anticipated by all the players. Key wins of the season include homestead and center grove. “We had great wins as a team this year such as center grove and homestead who both made semifinals and we beat them” The team to derail the Royals, North Central ended up going to state to win it all. Paul, and others on the team will move on to play tennis in the next level, “I’m going to miss the HSE tennis and all the memories, but I will move on to play in college.” The Boys tennis team had a hard-fought year, that they all left on the line to try and become state champions, but sadly fell short of their goal, and the underclassman have a job to finish in the upcoming fall.
