The Hamilton southeastern Royals baseball team starts their season on Wednesday March 22nd with a scrimmage against Carmel high school. The Royals are coming off a 10-17 last year looking to improve.

During the off season the Royals have been doing team building to get closer as a team Freshman Conrad Owens said, “As a program we do something called the victory challenge every person that is signed up gets put with a senior captain and we do various activities such as swimming, basketball, Campus Run, and dodgeball”. They do these things to get to know each other and grow their team chemistry.

The Seniors of the team have helped the lower classmen grow into leaders and set standards and expectations. Freshman Parker Osteen said that “The upperclassmen have been super huge and impacted me a lot as a freshman just being there for advice helping me get involved and being good teammates overall”. These Seniors are setting an example now to help improve the team in years to come.

The Royals are coming off a down year last season looking to improve and ultimately make and win a state championship. Owens said, “Everyone is doubting us, we have an amazing new coach Kory Sietz, and we are looking to take down the HCC (Hoosiers Crossroads Conference) one at a time”. The Royals are looking for another state championship with their last one being in the 2018-2019 season.
