Meet Reese Garland, a standout athlete on our high school softball team. Garland is a junior at Hamilton Southeastern and has been a great attribute to the team’s success. Her dedication and passion for the sport are evident in her performance on the field.  

     Garland is a force to be reckoned with as a catcher. Her reactions are lightning-quick, making her quite successful at her position. Garland is also a respectable hitter, hitting two home runs in a great win over Whitestown. Her great batting average of .333 is also attributed to her great sense of the game, making great plays to beat out her opponents.

     Off the field, Garland is a team player and an excellent role model for her teammates. She leads by example, always putting in extra work to improve her skills and encouraging her teammates to do the same. Her positive attitude and enthusiasm are contagious, and she brings a sense of energy to every practice and game. 

      Garland’s hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed. She has facilitated strong relationships between her teammates in order to facilitate a successful, winning season. Garland’s great season this year is only beginning as she has solidified her spot as one of the top softball players in the area. With senior year fast approaching, the future of Garland’s career is still uncertain. Be sure to follow this fast-rising star to see where the future of her career takes her.  

Garland’s win is a direct result of the democratic voting process taken on Southeastern Sports Network’s Instagram page where the students of HSE vote on who should win. Stay tuned for next month!
