The HSE Baseball team has been much improved under first year coach Kory Seitz. The Royals are currently 14-14 topping their win total from last season where they finished 10-18. Their new coach has also helped them to 6-6 in conference play.

The Seitz family is very well known at HSE and in the baseball program. Ken Seitz the father of Kory was a longtime coach and Athletic director at HSE. The field was renamed “Ken Seitz Field” in 2011 in honor of Seitz. Ken Seitz is also a member of the Indiana Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Kory Seitz played baseball at HSE and Indiana University, and he is a member of the HSE Hall of Fame from his days as a player. Kam Seitz, son of Kory Seitz, is also the starting left fielder on this year’s team. The Seitz family has made a huge impact on the HSE Baseball program through 3 generations. When Seitz was hired in 2022, HSE Athletic Director Greg Habegger said “We can’t wait to watch Kory put his own stamp on the Royals Baseball Program”. And he definitely has, by changing the culture and helping the players grow, the royals have seen a resurgence, having their best season since their state championship title in 2019. The Royals will face Westfield in the first round of sectionals at Noblesville high school on May 27.
