In 2007, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Select Committee undertook an inquiry into the work of the HSC/E. In April 2008 the DWP Select Committee published a report of it’s findings and on 2 July 2008 the Government published it’s response.

Procurement of technical support services to the Nuclear Directorate

HSE is seeking to appoint a number of suppliers to a framework agreement for the provision of technical support to its Nuclear Directorate (ND). The support will be required to enable ND to complete their programme of work relating to the Generic Design Assessment (GDA) process and the subsequent site specific licensing process for Nuclear New Build.

HSE asks for review of planning application

HSE has asked the Secretary of State to call in a Tower Hamlets planning application. This has been done through the Government Office for London. And requests that the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Governments calls in the Tower Hamlets planning application for her own determination.

Buncefield Adjournment debate held, Wednesday 19th July, 2006

Mike Penning, Member of Parliament for Hemel Hempstead, obtained an Adjournment debate on ‘Health and Safety Executive inquiry into Buncefiield oil depot fire in Hemel Hempstead’, which took place on the morning of 19th July 2006. The debate was attended and contributed to by local representatives from both national and European government, and the Government’s Ministerial response was delivered by James Plaskitt MP, the Department for Work and Pensions Parliamentary Under Secretary (Commons).
