The New Club to Fuel Gaming Addictions

The Pokemon Club has developed into a wider expanse of games. With the new title of Video Game Club, more games have become available for students to enjoy at after school meetings.

“I would describe video club as entertaining,” math teacher and head of club, Keaton Squires said. “I really enjoy seeing people from all different social groups, different stages of life, people who are popular and people who aren’t popular coming together and having nothing between them there’s no difference. Everyone has the mentality.”

A meeting is held before every gaming day. The meetings discuss different games that are going to be played, facts about the game’s, history behind the consoles and answers to any questions the group may have.

“Two of the pokemon people from last year said we should do this instead,” Squires said. “They wanted to use the new technology in the CCA. I thought it was an awesome idea and that it could really work.”

The CCA allows the club to expand into different rooms with different gaming systems set up in each room. So far the club has about three different gaming systems.

“We are hoping to expand year by year. Pokemon club was kind of done because there was only one game you could play,” Squires said. “[Video Game Club] could stay for a while because we’re open to evolve with technology.”
