Zootopia Movie Review

When watchinZootopia-4-1940x1119 copyg the previews for the movie  it seemed like a cute children’s movie with a few puns for the parents. Nonetheless, it seemed like it would be amusing, so I was eager to see it. Afterwards, I was more than impressed.

Upon seeing that the movie received a whopping 99% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, I knew I would be in for a treat. The plot follows Judy Hopps, the first bunny accepted into the police department of Zootopia. Intent on proving herself among the big lions and elephants, she pairs with Nick Wilde, a cunning fox with a not-so-good reputation in order to solve a mysterious missing mammal case.

The movie’s characters were intricate, and they had well-developed backstories which added depth. The movie touched on many modern, relevant, complex issues that society faces today, including prejudice, stereotyping, sexism, and racism. Additionally, it was packed with a lot of humor, including various verbal and visual puns.
I was pleasantly surprised by this movie, and I think that it appeals to and is appropriate for all audiences. I give it a rating of 5 stars. I highly encourage everyone to see it, with a younger sibling, friend, or even a grandparent as I believe all members would enjoy this movie.
