Earlier this month, female students tried out for the 2017-2018 season Fishers Fusion Dance Team. Seventeen determined ladies made the Junior Varsity Team. The team members that are returning from last year know of the hard work that it takes to preform well throughout the dance season.

JV last year ended up placing second at their last competition in Louisville to Beavercreek High School, only falling short by one point. The JV team is looking to come back and face Beavercreek stronger than the previous year and get the Jamfest National Champion jacket.

Freshman Bayla Graham described her disappointment of getting second place but how it makes her determined to take back the first place champion title. “All of the blood sweat and tears that we all put into the team was all just to get second place. We were all very disappointed because we believed that we deserved the 1st place trophy. We stayed up until 11pm perfecting the dance.” Graham said. ‘I think that if we all stick together as a team and work hard throughout the season we will be able to win the Jamfest title.”

This year the team will be perfecting their routine and practicing their performance at Fishers and HSE games. Incoming Freshman, Hailey Howard describes her hope for the team. “I feel like our team is going to be very successful this season because we have so much talent.” Howard said. “I plan on getting my skills perfected and being a good team mate to achieve a Jamfest jacket.”
