Unique places over Fall Break

With Fall Break being a week this year for Hamilton Southeastern High School, a couple students went outside of the United States and went outside of Indiana for their Fall Break. Students around HSE experienced events that they would not experience here in Indiana.

“I visited Princess Cays, the Bahamas, Grand Cayman, Ochos Rios, Jamaica Cozumel and Mexico,” Emily Otten said. “On the cruise, I experienced a lot of new foods such as alligator, jerk chicken, ox tongue, rabbit, mussels and frog legs.”

Visiting new places across the globe brings new opportunities to offer and try events you have not tried before. Having new opportunities and experiences can be risk-taking and can create exciting memories to remember along the road to share with family members and friends.

“Snorkeling in Cozumel and cliff jumping in Jamaica were definitely the coolest parts of the trip,” Otten said. “It is fun to explore the ocean and to have a thrill-seeking experience.”

Another State that was popular this year over fall break was New York City and their known places to visit in the State. When visiting another state, students tend to take advice from other students on what to visit in the state.

“I saw all of the cool stuff people say to look for such as Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Empire State Building, the Met and the Central Park,” said Brooke Wyatt.

With being outside of Indiana and seeing another state, you experience the states different lifestyle that you would not see here in Indiana. Student Brooke Wyatt shares her experience of seeing the differences between New York City and Indiana.

“You definitely never see subways here in Indiana, let alone big billboards of lights and flashes like Times Square and Broadway here in Indy either,” Wyatt said. “Overall the vacation was so fun and I would go back whenever I get the chance.”

A fun and exciting fall break does not mean you have to leave the state to create fun memories to remember. Being in Indiana can bring amazing and fun opportunities to offer and share memories with your friends.

“We went to Turtles Orchard and went through a corn maze,” Jordan Sines said. “We picked pumpkins, drank cold apple cider, ate caramel apples and picked apples.”
