As of this morning, the Royals released a statement of the engagement of 33 year old Prince Harry and 36 year old American actress Meghan Markle. The Queen gave her blessing toward the marriage saying she is, “delighted for the couple and wishes them every happiness.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and his wife Catherine Middleton released a statement on Twitter saying, “We are very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together.”

The pair had been dating for over a year and over the past couple of weeks, there have been whispers of an engagement. Markle is well known for the role on the television show Suits. Markle was previously married before she met Prince Harry. The pair will be the first Royal bi-racial couple, seeing as Markle is a Jewish American who is half African-American and Caucasian. Race is not a major issue for the Royals but it will be a first.

It is said the wedding is going to be sometime during the spring of 2018, but the wedding would most likely take place after Prince William and Middleton have their third baby. After the wedding, the two are to stay at Nottingham Cottage in the grounds place of Kensington Palace.

The question many people are asking is if Markle will now be a princess, and the answer to that question is no. Since Prince Harry is fifth in line to the throne, Markle cannot have the title princess. The chances of Harry becoming King is very rare. After their marriage, both Prince Harry and Markle will be Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
