Daniel Hendricks is athlete of a sport that is both combined with Fishers and HSE kids, called Rugby. Playing rugby at HSE is labeled as a club sport. Hendricks says “Rugby is very chaotic and just a bunch of dudes just going after each other with a ball and a goal to get to the end zone”. The athletes in this sport as Hendricks said are like “brothers”. Not many of us can imagine being in a sport with our rival Fishers.

In Hendricks’ free time he loves to hang out with either some of his teammates or other friends outside of his sport. He also loves to ski and has been doing that for the past 4 years and has grown a passion for it in the past years. Hendricks also lifts weights in his free time and try to stay fit during his off season as well.

Since the Rugby team won state last year he said that his goals this year is to win state alongside his teammates. They would like to carry the tradition of having a good brotherhood of taking on the big championship and bringing home the hardware.

As February rolls in they start up their outdoor practices and get ready for the season that lies ahead of them. Their first match starts up between the end of February and beginning of March. Their motto they go by is “We SCRUM for possession, RUN for the try zone, BLEED for the team & LIVE for the game”. Each and every player plays a roll in who wins each match, Hendricks will live by this motto and help his part in trying to win state again this year.
