Gary Harris: HSE’s very own

There are only about 450 players that are on a team in the NBA. One of those players is Hamilton Southeastern’s very own Gary Harris. Harris graduated from HSE in 2012 and his impact on the court was astounding. Harris put up huge numbers for the Royals and led them to a sectional championship victory in 2011 and another appearance in 2012. He also won Indiana Mr. Basketball in his senior year. After playing college ball at Michigan State for 2 years, Harris declared for the NBA Draft where he was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the 1st round and soon traded to the Denver Nuggets. Throughout the past few years, Harris was played a big role for the Nuggets as the starting shooting guard. He’s averaged 15.1 points per game over the past 3 seasons and has helped the nuggets win a few playoff series. Not many high schools can say they have a NBA player, let alone one who plays a significant role. However, HSE is one school that can say that.
