Boys Basketball Graduates After High School (As of February 28th)

Here is an overview of what former Boys Basketball players have been up to since their years with the Royals.

Gary Harris- Class of 2012

Harris went on to play two years at Michigan State University, winning Big Ten Freshman of the Year in his first year. He followed that up by earning first-team All-Big Ten and was All-Big Ten Defensive Team. He declared for the NBA Draft and was selected as the 19th overall pick. He has carved out a nice pro career, recently signing a 4-year $84 million contract extension with $74 million guaranteed.

Zak Irvin- Class of 2013

Irvin signed his letter of intent to play at the University of Michigan. He played all four years, earning All-Big Ten Tourney twice. He played on Michigan’s Elite Eight team 2014 and played a key role in their Sweet Sixteen run in 2017. He went undrafted but was picked up by the New York Knicks’ G-League team in Westchester. He has averaged 10.5 points per game in 2 years.

Jack Davidson- Class of 2017

Davidson signed to play at Wabash College in 2017. He averaged 18.2 points per game in his freshman year. During his sophomore season, he set the NCAA record for most consecutive made free throws, hitting 95 free throws. He is currently averaging 20.1 points per game this year as a junior.

Connor Rotterman- Class of 2017

Rotterman decided to join Davidson and play basketball at Wabash in 2017. He averaged a strong 12 points per game in his freshman year. He has played a vital role for Wabash since as he has started every game this season.

Aaron Shank- Class of 2017

Shank signed to play college basketball at Depauw University. While he played little his freshman year, he has blossomed into a nice role player this year for the Tigers. Now as a starter, he is averaging 8.6 points per game, 4.7 rebounds per game, 1.1 assists per game, and nearly a block a game.

Zach Gunn- Class of 2017

Gunn decided to take his talents to Ball State University in 2017. He developed into a nice role player off the bench for the Cardinals in his first two years. He has yet to play a game this year as he suffered a knee injury that has sidelined for the beginning of the season.

Nick Bowman- Class of 2018

Bowman signed to play basketball at Trine University in Angola, Indiana. He has gotten limited playing time so far but has averaged close to 3 points per game so far in his career.

Chaz Birchfield- Class of 2018

Birchfield committed to play at Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was a major contributor to Davenport last year as the team went on to win the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship. He has yet to play in a game this season.

Aaron Etherington- Class of 2019

Etherington followed in the footsteps of his older brother by playing Division 1 basketball, at the University of Toledo. He has yet to play in a game this year for the Rockets.

Noah Smith- Class of 2019

Smith went on to sign for Indiana Wesleyan University where he has become a huge contributor to their season. As a starter, he is averaging 10.5 points per game, 3.7 assists per game, and is shooting 42.9% from three for a 27-4 Wildcats team.
