Coaching Style

Coach Davidson hopes each player has a memorable high school athletic experience. “I hope that they walk away and always remember some stories or some fun times they had of their high school experience. Selfishly, I admit, I hope it has some hardware to it”. Coach also claims that he hopes they can learn valuable lessons off the field as well. Teamwork and work ethic are two skills Davidson hopes the girls will take with them past their high school career.

Davidson claims his coaching philosophy leaned towards the offensive side of the ball due to the fact that was the position he played in his playing days. “I would say I have evolved towards the defensive side of the ball. I strive to make sure I find that blend of making sure I have an exciting team that can score goals but also defend well.”

Most would assume Davidson’s proudest coaching moment would be getting inducted to the ISCA Hall of Fame or making a trip the 2011 State Championship. Davidson states that his biggest successes are those that happen off the field. “When I get invited to a wedding, or receive a text that one of my former players is having a baby. Being a part of the girl’s lives for more than just those 4 years, that’s what I am most proud of in my coaching career”

Davidson takes pride in his ability to read the game as a way to set him apart from other coaches. “I feel like I am able to make those necessary adjustments during the game to impact the game.”

What makes Hamilton Southeastern unique to Coach Davidson is the camaraderie between the coaches as well as the students. “Everyone takes pride in HSE, everyone bleeds blue, and that really stands out to me and that’s what makes HSE such a fun place to be.”
