HSE FFA: Parliamentary Procedure

Mackenzie Dreher

Hamilton Southeastern’s FFA chapter is involved in many different activities and contests throughout the community, from SAEs and LDEs , public speaking contests, marketing contests, parliamentary procedure and many more. The parli team has been practicing and rehearsing this contest since October. Going through motions and practicing all the techniques, learning how to  properly conduct a mock meeting. Mrs. Mills, the FFA advisor here at HSE says, “My favorite thing about teaching these girls is watching them learn and grow as a team, I’m so sad to see the season come to an end.”  Over the weekend they competed in the state parli contest, going up against eight teams from varying counties. Sadly, the results were scored and to great disbelief they placed 4th.  Despite the sad loss, coming in 4th overall is pretty impressive. “Top four in the state for any FFA contest is something to be pumped about and something some members will never be able to they’ve accomplished,” Mills says. The members worked hard and put in the upmost effort throughout this year, not only learning about the contest as a whole but learning leadership and the importance of teamwork.  Story by Mackenzie Dreher
