Natasha Romanoff will return to the silver screen for the first film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase Four.

Disney has just announced that on July 9th, 2021, Black Widow will be available in theaters and on Disney Plus with Premiere Access.

The film follows Natasha Romanoff’s (Scarlett Johansson) journey before joining The Avengers. Set after Captain America: Civil War (2016), the film sees Romanoff on the run and forced to confront her past. Other cast members include Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov (aka Red Guardian), and Rachel Weisz as Melina Vostokoff. It will be directed by Cate Shortland and produced by Kevin Feige.

Originally, Black Widow was expected to released on May 1st of 2020. However, it was delayed three times due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, Disney has also debuted a new release date for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The film will premiere in theaters on September 3rd, 2021, as well as on Disney Plus with Premiere Access.

Simu Liu stars as Shang-Chi, who must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the Ten Rings organization. The film’s cast also includes Tony Leung as Wenwu, Awkwafina as Shang-Chi’s friend Katy, and Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan. It is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton.
