Milwaukee Over the Blue Bloods?

Today, May 12, was the day that top high school basketball recruit Patrick Baldwin Jr would make his official college selection. The college he chose, was an absolute shocker.

Over the past year, Patrick Baldwin Jr, a small forward from Sussex, Wisconsin, has quickly gained attention as a top recruit in the 2021 class. According to 247sports.com, he was the fourth highest ranked recruit and the number one small forward in the nation.

On May 20, 2020, Baldwin narrowed down his top ten schools of choice,

and included blue bloods: Kentucky, Duke, and North Carolina. He also included Wisconsin, and Milwaukee University.

The early predictions had him going to Coach K at Duke University, but today, he shocked the nation. He chose to attend Milwaukee University. He is obviously the highest-rated recruit to ever play basketball at Milwaukee.

He chose to stay home because of his father, who is the head coach at Milwaukee. Although it seems like a dream to play basketball under your father, his father is coming into his fifth season with a undesirable record of 47-70.

As one the most interesting recruiting moments in the past few years, I certainly am excited to see how Baldwin’s future unrolls starting this upcoming season.
