SSN Meet the Athlete: Sam Jacobs

Today, I sat down with senior forward Sam Jacobs who is off to a fantastic start to his senior season and took a deep dive into his view on the basketball season ahead.
Q: What are your season goals for this year as a team?

A: The season goals are to win a conference championship, win a sectional, and ultimately win a state championship.
Q: What are your season goals for this year as a player?
A: My player goals for this season are to make all-conference and try to get all-state.
Q: How do you feel like your role has changed this year?
A: Being the only returning varsity guy I have had to step up into a leadership role and help the younger guys out a lot more.
Q: What are you excited about most for this year?
A: I am most excited about playing on the court with the group of guys we have because our team chemistry is really good.
Q: How has Coach Ashworth changed the program in his first year?
A: He came in and right away set the tone of what this program was going to be about. He said the other day If you don’t think we can beat everybody on our schedule then to get off the court and the whole team loved that and agreed with him.
Q: Lastly, who is the toughest player you have had to guard?
A: Jalen Blackmon or Braden Smith
