Yesterday, Tuesday, April 26th was a big day for Royal athletics, with two Mudsock events taking place. The Royal softball team took on Fishers at home, while the Girls Tennis team travelled to Fishers.

Both teams fought a hard battle but came up just short of bringing home the Mudsock trophy.

Varsity Softball

The Varsity softball team fell short at 6-5 after 9 innings. The Royals were led by senior outfielder, Emma Vance, with 3 hits throughout the game, followed by Alex Kiemeyer and Payton Fox with 2 hits. Junior Sage Ladig pitched all 9 innings, striking out 4 batters and ending the game with a total of 143 pitches. This brings the team standings to 6 – 8, making them 6th in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference.

Today the team travels up to Kokomo to play against Kokomo High School at 6:00pm.

Varsity Tennis

The Lady Royals Tennis team fought a hard match against Fishers. Doubles team senior Kaylee Etheredge and senior Emily Orme took home a win, and three singles player, senior Meghan Slaninka, brought home a three-set win as well. However, the team was just short of a win with the match ending HSE 2 – 3 Fishers.

Today the team goes back to Noblesville to finish their match against Noblesville High School at 5:30. Tomorrow, Thursday April 27th, the team faces Avon at home, at 5:30pm.
