Payton Fox, a senior softball player at Hamilton Southeastern has made her mark on the program as a whole. She has competed on the varsity team for the majority of her career, maintaining an incredible batting average of .467 this season. Over her three seasons, Fox has also managed to hit 53 runs, accompanying 47 runs batted in.

Fox has not only been a great attribute to the team, being a strong third baseman and powerful hitter but also a great leader and teammate. She attributes the great success of her team to the strong dynamic and atmosphere. It is evident that the facilitation of friendships and great chemistry plays a part in the team’s success, as well as creating a fun and enjoyable environment.

“We have a lot of talented girls and I’m excited to see how the rest of our season unfolds” -Fox

With the girls’ softball season in full swing, it will be exciting to see how Fox and the rest of her team compete against other organizations across the district. Fox’s successful career will not end in high school though, as she plans on continuing her athletic and academic career at Ball State University in the fall. For now, Fox will focus on her senior season and setting a great example as a leader and role model on the team.

Fox’s win is a direct result of the democratic voting process taken on Southeastern Sports Network’s Instagram page where the students of HSE vote on who should win. Stay tuned for next week!
