When you think of etiquette, a few things that may come to mind are manners or how to set a table correctly. The students in the Academy of Finance class of 2017 spent a whole day learning what etiquette really is. In every career, especially business related, you will be forced to make proper introductions, shake hands with others, send thank you cards, and dine professionally. Founder of Excellence with Etiquette, Christie Herron, dedicated her time to teach these students how to behave with respect and the finest etiquette. She spent two hours explaining social etiquette, including introductions and handshakes. The students learned and practiced their techniques using role play scenarios. For lunch, the students were bussed over to Sullivan’s Steakhouse in Indianapolis to learn dining etiquette. Here, they were able to not only learn the correct behaviors, but practice them in a learning environment. Certificates were given for completing the course, and thanks to Ms. Herron, these students are well prepared for their careers to come. Story by Madelyn Cahlamer.
