Away @ Avon High School @ 6PM

After their 4-2 Victory over Crown Point with Senior Ashley Ransom and Sophomore Grace Swedarsky combining for 7 strikeouts, and Senior Addy Justice having 2 singles, and hits coming from Seniors Sayla Stock, Reese Garland, Megan Wincek, and Junior Emmy Seifferlein. Carrying on a hot start to the season, the Hamilton Southeastern Royals Softball Team arrived at Avon High School for their 2nd Conference Matchup.

Starting off slow in the first 2 Innings with the score tied at 0-0, The Royals knew they needed to change their style of play. After Kiemeyer was struck by a pitch, bases were loaded ready for Garland to step up to the plate, in hopes to hit her first grand slam of the season. After hitting two Grand Slams last season the pressure faded away as she swung her bat. As she made contact with the ball, she rounded the bases knowing the ball was already passing over the fence. The Royals now held a strong lead up 4-0, with 1 out in the top of the 3rd. To finish off the third inning, Junior Keira Lodes put away another home run to increase the lead to 5-0 and improve the chances of securing a season record of 8-2 and to hold off the Orioles from scoring a run. Swedarksy pitched an impressive 9 strikeouts and 0 walks to get the Royals into a good standing.

It was time to take the plate again, to try and create an even bigger margin against The Orioles. A slow 4th Inning slowed the Royals down from their hot streak and now had to find a way to finish out the game. Kiemeyer had several impressive plate appearances with passing 2 walks by her and the team combining for 6 in the entire game.

Heading into the Last Inning, Number 7, The Royals were up 6-0, steadily cruising to a conference matchup win. After burying another run, making the game 7-0, The Orioles had to pull a miracle to see victory. Starting off hot in the bottom of the 7th, with sophomore Regan Cooper and Senior Karly Anderson getting back-to-back hits, they scored 4 runs, making the final score 7-4, and making the Royals victorious this time.
