Senior Timothy Mathioudakis is starting his third year of lacrosse this spring. Fresh off a state championship team there are high hopes for the Royals this season, everyone in the state is anxious to see  if the Royals can defend their title.

“It is gonna take a lot of hard work” said Mathioudakis, ” but we have a really strong work ethic this year and if we put our minds to it we can accomplish any task”.

Mathioudakis talked about how hard this team has been working in the offseason, stating how he feels like this team is more committed and determined than any other in years past. There are only a few returning varsity players this year meaning that https://youtu.be/e6GYwvRxh_Ymost of the team is going to have to adapt to the speed and intensity of a varsity game.

“Last year the team had thirteen seniors” Said coach Beasely. so this years varsity is going to be inexperienced and young.” The theme of this year for lacrosse is build the machine, any player should be able to step up and fill a role like a brand new cog in a machine. This ideology is completely achievable with the right leadership, and comments from some other teammates say that Mathioudakis is an outstanding leader and captain.

“Timmy works so hard in and out of practice” Said senior teammate Tanner Williams, ” he is an amazing vocal leader and even better at leading by example.”
