Deeper look into the view of being a senior HSE athlete.

Interview from Omana Jacob.

Confidence. Confidence and believing in yourself is all it takes to be a successful athlete at HSE. The best athletes are innately self-confident, and they truly believe that they will win. They also have the confidence to deal with any unexpected situations that may arise and to speak up for themselves or their teammates when appropriate. Praising athletes’ participation or effort can really encourage them.

One of our beloved seniors on the Hse Girls Wrestling team, Omana Jacob, states how “the number one skill I’ve defiantly approved on most throughout my career is being more confident in wrestling, I believe that me being more aggressive and believing in myself has caused me to win more matches this year.” Devoting a good chunk of the four years you get in high school to your sport overall makes you a more powerful individual. Fighting for a common goal with a group of players and coaches teaches you how to build teamwork and effectively communicate to solve problems. This experience is helpful when encountering problems in your future and communicating with people in your life. “The thing i like best about the community on my team is when im wresting live and i can hear my teamates cheering and supporting me.” Being surrounded by people who are supportive and care about you can help you take care of yourself.
