One Last Ride

Senior Lacrosse Player Ready to Defend Title

LH Bond has been an athlete almost his entire life. He grew up playing football like his father who was a part of HSE’s 1981 state championship football team. Bond also grew up playing baseball and giving up this sport led to him finding lacrosse.

“I started playing lacrosse in sixth grade when I did not want to play baseball anymore,” Bond said.

Bond would achieve success in both lacrosse and football. One of his greatest accomplishments was when the Royals lacrosse team won the state championship last year in comeback fashion.

“Winning state last year was great.” Bond said. “It was just fun to watch and be a part of it.”

Although winning state was a great accomplishment, Bond has one thing on his mind: defending the title and this time as a varsity senior. Bond says that there is a lot of pressure to make it back, but he and the team will take it one game at a time. Despite not being one the football team this year, Bond would stay in shape as he worked out almost every single day over the offseason.

“LH goes to practice every single day with a positive attitude and is ready to work hard,” his father said.

Bond has already improved while the season is still young as he has a hat trick in a game and has progressed in his stick work. His strong play has already helped the Royals succeed.

“If LH continues to go at the pace that he is at now, I think he will be a dangerous player to deal with,” Mr. Bond said.

Despite the high expectations placed on Bond and his fellow seniors, he will not fold under pressure. He is ready to compete and help lead the Royals to a repeat title in his last ride.
