New Season, New Coach

Girls Basketball Welcomes New Assistant Coach

Hamilton Southeastern girls’ basketball has been without an assistant coach, until now. On August 24, Hse Athletic Director Jim Self and Head coach, Brian Satterfield finalized the acceptance of Coach Lisa Holman as an assistant coach. Holman has been playing basketball at the age of 6. The game quickly became her passion and eventually she earned a scholarship to play at Oregon. On top of teaching her own kids, she has coached many of the current varsity players whether in travel ball or AAU. Prior to taking her position her at HSE, she has coached at IGB (Indiana Girls Basketball) on the GUAA circuit.

When we asked her what inspired her to be a coach, she said “When I had kids of my own, I wanted to share the love of the game with them. I found it as an opportunity to spend quality time with them and to hopefully inspire them to want to continue playing basketball.”

Her intense and passionate coaching style is a reflection of the way she played. The experience she has with the sport will be helpful for knowing what it takes to make it at the next levels that will come to these talented players.
