Transition from football to basketball

Boys basketball feature story

With the football season ending and the Royals basketball season starting we sat down with Braeden Totton, Jack Jacobs, and Callen Okerson and asked about the transition. This is what they had to say about the upcoming season. “The transition from football to basketball is tough. One of the hardest things is conditioning, trying to get in basketball shape is not easy. The first couple of days really hit you hard. Another thing is getting your shot back. Us football players haven’t been able to practice with the team so getting game speed reps and shots are super challenging.” The Royals finished 7-18 last season and went 3-4 in conference play. With some new additions and returning players getting more experience, they look to have a good season. So far, the team is 1-1 with a big win over Pike this past weekend. They take on Avon this away on Friday, December 1st at 7:30. Then play Marion at home on Saturday the 2nd at 7:30. Make sure to show out for your Royals as they look to start their season off strong.
